Frequently asked questions

Clear answers, before you request an appointment.

A mobile appointment is easier when the scope, requirements, and fees are understood in advance.

01

What should I bring to a mobile notary appointment?

Bring the complete document, valid unexpired government-issued photo identification (or other satisfactory evidence of identity), and any witnesses your document requires. Wait to sign where a notarial act requires the signer to appear before the notary.

02

Why is there a travel fee in addition to the notarization fee?

Missouri sets maximum fees for notarial acts. Mobile travel/service fees are separate, are not set by the state, and are agreed with you before Gateway Seal travels. Your receipt shows the charges separately.

03

Can Gateway Seal tell me which certificate I need or explain my document?

No. Gateway Seal does not provide legal advice, select certificates, complete documents, or explain their legal effect. Ask the receiving agency, document provider, lender, title company, or a licensed attorney.

04

Does Gateway Seal issue apostilles?

No. Gateway Seal provides administrative facilitation. The appropriate government authority decides eligibility, issues any apostille/authentication, and controls its fees and processing time.

05

Can you guarantee same-day service or acceptance?

Availability depends on location, schedule, document readiness, and service scope. Gateway Seal confirms any rush option in writing but cannot guarantee approval, acceptance, funding, or government processing.

06

Do you serve locations outside St. Louis?

Yes, by availability and an advance travel quote. Gateway Seal plans to serve up to 200 driving miles from the approved service anchor; distant, toll, parking, overnight, or time-sensitive requests receive a written quote first.

07

Can you conduct a wedding ceremony?

Only after Gateway Seal confirms officiant authority and local license workflow. Couples remain responsible for obtaining a valid marriage license and following the issuing office’s requirements.
